Dr. Safa Nassereldin
Dr. Safa Nassereldin was the First Female Minister for Telecommunication and Information Technology (MTIT) in Palestine from May 2012 till June 2014. She is currently Vice President at Alquds University for Jerusalem since June 2014. She was Advisor and Technical Assistant to the Minister for three years as well as E-gov General Coordinator and team leader for the National Team for Systems and Information Security (NTSIS). She lead the effort of preparing the National ICT strategy 2011-2013, the e-government Policy document and roadmap for 2012-2014 in cooperation with OECD. As leader for NTSIS, prepared a national Policy for Information security and prepared the terms of reference for creating the Palestine Cybersecurity Emergency Team Pal CERT. She helped in drafting MOUs for government and academic networks as well as drafting the e-transaction law. Dr. Nassereldin was elected as the Chairwoman and board member of the FTTH Council MENA, since January 2016, representing Moseco Group whose operations are in Saudi, Jordan, Palestine, Qatar, and the UAE.
Dr. Nassereldin worked in the academia both in Palestine and France. She is an active member in the Higher Council for Innovation and Excellence, 2013-now, Board of Directors (BOD) and Head of incubation and motivation committee. Helped the council in putting the bylaws and establishing a database for the innovators in Palestine. She is BOD and projects evaluator for Palestinian Incubator for Energy, 2014-now. As an Evaluator: Made In Palestine contest since 2008 till 2012 as well as Welfare Association supported projects for Young Entrepreneurs 2013, 2014 and in Birzeit University for MSc degree students projects.
She is cofounder for Palestinian Open Source Community (POSC) since November 2009. She is currently BOD in Girls in Tech (GIT) as well as AlQuds Holding.
Dr. Nassereldin graduated from Schmidt’s Girls College (German School). She has Bachelors in Electronic Engineering from Al-Quds University with Deans Honors list, Master degree in Signal and Image Processing from ENSEEIHT and Doctorate in Electronic Engineering from ENSEIRB, Bordeaux I University in France, 2003.
She has many certificates from Microsoft for Networking as system engineer as well as for Windows and Web Application development. She also participated in training for Proposal writing and Fund raising as well as Business and Management Tools and Innovation.
